April is National Poetry Month and that’s because of an initiative by the Academy of American Poets beginning in 1996. The Academy claims it’s now become the largest literary celebration in the world, reaching over 10 million Americans. I spoke to Jennifer Benka, executive director of the Academy, about the festivities.
